Three types of reading
The first is for fun. We read whatever we want, whenever we want, for nothing more than leisure, curiosity, and exploration.
The second is for use. We read a specific topic to learn something new to apply immediately. We tend to remember this information the best.
The last is for just in case. We read because we think we might need it someday, even though it has no use right now. We read for the fear of missing out or to get an illusion of productivity. We waste time on information we won't remember.
Read for fun, read for use, but don't read just in case.
